Wayyyyyy Down In The Hole

(title for all The Wire fans out there.)

My latest published story, "Halfway Down The Hole" is up today at pindeldyboz.

Read it if you'd like. It's short.

Great story, Elad. I appreciate your subtle hand.

Also--you do know Tom Waits did that song originally, right? They sifted about twenty pounds of grit out of it for "The Wire"'s version :-)

Thanks for reading and commenting, Dave!

Thanks also for the info. I did not know Tom Waits did the original. I'm going to go hunt down mp3's after work today. I love how The Wire remixes the song every season for a completely different atmosphere.

I didn't know they remixed it, actually. We just finished watching Season One. It took me a while to really get into it, but now I'm hooked.

oh, i envy you right now. you're in for a great time. the second season drifts from the main storyline (the Barksdale crew) to focus on an entirely new set of "badguy" characters. It's an enclosed storyline, the characters introduced in the second season are never seen again so cherish them while you can. Originally it's overwhelming, you're slapped in the face with a dozen new main characters to learn about. But stick with it because by the end of the season, whoever's left alive is very very close to your heart.

The third season has its own special qualities, too, but I'll leave that for future discussions.
